This is a personal website. It has no accounts, no comments, no forms and no newsletter sign-up, and it sets no cookies. This page explains the little that happens when you visit.
Analytics
I use Umami to see which pages are read and where visitors come from. It does not use cookies and does not follow you across other websites.
When a page loads, the site sends Umami the page address, the referring site, your screen size, browser language and user agent, and any campaign tags in the link. Your IP address and the approximate location Cloudflare derives from it (country, region, city) are passed along too, so that visits can be counted and grouped by country. Umami uses the IP address to tell unique visits apart and does not keep it in the statistics I see.
The statistics are aggregated: I see numbers per page, country or browser, not individual people.
I also use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how fast pages load for real visitors. It does not use cookies or fingerprinting and does not follow you across other websites. A small script measures the page address, the referring site, your user agent and loading times, and sends them to Cloudflare. Cloudflare uses your IP address only to work out the country and does not store it.
Hosting
The site runs on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and request details to deliver the pages and protect the site from abuse.
Links to other sites
Links to GitHub, LinkedIn, X, Instagram and other sites take you to services with their own privacy policies. Nothing from them is embedded or loaded here until you click.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask what data about you is processed, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. Since I don't hold any data that identifies you, there is usually nothing to hand over, but I am happy to answer questions.
